At IRI, we seek to understand the science behind everyday biochemical exposures. Our objective is to generate data that unearths the health impacts related to consumer products (food, beauty, home), the lived environment (soil, air, building materials), and societal practices (e.g. redlining, greenlining). The end goal is a people-centered, data-driven approach to understanding how modifiable environmental, lifestyle, and consumer choices impact health and disease. At the outset, research topics will focus on the impacts of the lived environment on metabolic disease and women’s health, with an emphasis on long-term, low concentration exposures.
